What is the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Coalition? (NOCC)
NOCC
In December of 2003, leaders of Open and Affirming (ONA) churches from the Western Reserve Association gathered at First Church in Oberlin, with the purpose of exploring and furthering the mission of The Coalition. Determined, they wanted to share the joys of being ONA and how it has enhanced the UCC church's ministry of welcoming others along life's journey. These individuals collaborated to form a regional chapter, the Northern Ohio Chapter of the Coalition, (NOCC).
NOCC has since grown to include the Western Reserve Association, the Eastern Ohio Association, and the Northwest Ohio Association. Our primary mission is to assist other UCC churches within these associations to learn about and explore the Open and Affirming process, as well as, bible studies and curricula about marriage.
